INKS
Full Color (Process Printing)

Here, let me clear up any confusion. Full color is actually just four ink colors: cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, which are placed on the page as tiny dots in teensy circles (rosettas) that fool your eyes into seeing bazillions of colors. Almost everything in print is printed this way.


Spot Color Printing*

Think of "spot colors" as paints at your local Sherwin Williams; but in print, these paint swatches are better known as Pantones. If you want exact colors for your logo, you use a Pantone color, which has a corresponding PMS number. A process color (a mix of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black) can try to imitate a Pantone, but is never exact.

There are thousands of Pantone colors, but here are the standards:

Black, Reflex Blue, Brown (PMS 168), Dark Green (PMS 343), Gold (PMS 873), Gray (PMS 431), Green (PMS 348)

Maroon (PMS 208), Orange (PMS 021), Process Blue, Purple (PMS 267), Red (PMS 200), Teal (PMS 321), Yellow

FOILS*

Gold, Silver, Copper, Blue, Red, Pink, Black, White, Teal, Green, Purple


SPECIAL PRINT EFFECTS
Spot UV

Increasingly popular, Spot UV is the application of UV-coating only in particular areas. UV-coating is what makes our glossy cards so super glossy. But if we apply it only to particular areas, as in the thumbprint in this sample business card, then just that area (the thumbprint) is glossy. So, that thumbprint isn't actually printed with ink! It's cool and sassy! You can also make your logo stand out more on a matte card by spot-UV-ing it.

Raised Ink
When printing with spot colors, you can print them with raised ink at no extra charge. It gives you cards a little extra oomph. Try coating the entire card with your your text knocked out or in a different color!


EMBOSSING
Add some depth to your products by stamping your image into them. Think 3-D. You can emboss your logo or text (or whatever) into the page or with foil.

Whether your need a point-of-sale stand-up display in your shop or a special shaped business card, we can route the perfect shape into your products.


* There are a couple restrictions, when it comes to using spot colors and foils. We can go over that with you, if it comes up. Generally, it all works out.
